Now the upcoming census code numbers are created based on 135 ethnic groups, Rohingya have no code number and they have to use the one available for others "914" who are excluded from the list of 135. Rohingyas are ready to fill up their race name “Rohingya” beside the code no. 914. But they are also in fear that the enumerators will not fill up as they claimed. The sources from Nay Pyi Taw said the government has already instructed the enumerators to fill up code no. 910 if someone claimed “Rohingya”. The code no. 910 is designated for the Bangladeshi under the category of foreigners. The local authorities in Arakan state are instructing the enumerators to leave the code and race name as blank. So later the government can write whatever they want.
